Steve Hennigan, MD

Stephen Hennigan, MD, is a private practice Infectious Disease Specialist in Northwest Arkansas. He was born in Baton Rouge, LA, and grew up on a farm in rural Northwest Louisiana. He attended medical school at LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport, LA, where he graduated second in his class. He received the Hargrove Memorial Award for highest grade point average in Internal Medicine, the Upjohn Award for academic achievement in medical school, and was given membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society during his 3rd year of medical school. He obtained his Internal Medicine Residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, in Hanover, NH, and his Infectious Disease fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. He has served the community of Northwest Arkansas for 25 years caring for the HIV community, and working as a consultant managing complicated infections in the hospitals of the area. He patented a device to reduce the spread of antimicrobial resistance in the healthcare setting.
